Left ventricular remodeling following percutaneous edge-to-edge repair using Mitraclip
نویسندگان
چکیده
Methods Consecutive patients scheduled for MitraClip were prospectively studied. Patients with pacemaker or ICD were excluded. Transthoracic echocardiography and CMR at 1.5 Tesla were performed before and 6 months after MitraClip procedure. Left ventricular volumes were measured using transthoracic echocardiography (biplane Simpson’s method) and short-axis SSFP CMR images covering the left ventricle. Mitral insufficiency was graded using color Doppler flow mapping (grade 1-4).

Percutaneous mitral valve repair.
Nonsurgical treatment of clinically important mitral regurgitation (MR) has evolved tremendously over the past decade. Recent studies of percutaneous mitral valve repair procedures have shown that less invasive procedures are safe and can be effective in selected patients. MitraClip has been studied most extensively. The MitraClip is attached to the middle scallop of the mitral leaflets by a tr...
متن کاملWill the Mitral Clip become the invasive treatment of choice for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy?
Left ventricular outflow tract obstruction (LVOTO) in classic hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy is caused by a combination of septal hypertrophy and systolic anterior motion of the mitral valve (SAM). Invasive treatment of hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) is reserved for patients with severe drug refractory symptoms and LVOTO, and has historically aimed to reduce the thickne...

The percutaneous edge-to-edge repair of mitral regurgitation with a MitraClip device has been recently approved in Europe. The results of the randomized EVEREST II study showed a favourable safety profile of the technique. However, the efficacy in terms of regurgitation reduction in a population with predominantly degenerative mitral disease was inferior as compared to the results of convention...

Percutaneous mitral valve repair (MVR) using the MitraClip system is a novel and promising technique for the treatment of mitral regurgitation (MR) which involves mechanical edge-to-edge coaptation of the mitral leaflets and has been employed in over 5,000 patients worldwide. Its feasibility and high procedural success rates have been established in several small singleor multi-centric registri...
